Τα βραβεία BAFTA κριτικάρονται λόγω της διάκρισης στις κατηγορίες
Οι αντιδράσεις του κοινού.
Τα βραβεία BAFTA ανακοίνωσαν τις υποψηφιότητες για τα βραβεία, ωστόσο αυτό που ξεχώρισαν οι περισσότεροι ήταν πως οι υποψηφιότητες είχαν ένα κοινό.
Στις υποψηφιότητες ήταν όλοι λευκοί κατά πλειοψηφία άντρες. Ενώ αισθητή ήταν και οι έλλειψη των γυναικείων υποψηφιοτήτων στις σκηνοθετικές κατηγορίες.
Χαρακτηριστικό είναι πως δημιουργήθηκε Hashtag baftasowhite αποκαλώντας τα βραβεία λευκά.
